📋 Overview
Videos that cut off mid-record or throw an "Unsupported File Format / File Corrupted" error upon extraction are usually caused by a broken video index header from a sudden power drop or bad sectors on the memory card.
🛠️ Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1: Check for Unscheduled Power Outages If the camera suddenly runs out of power mid-recording, or experiences an impact that momentarily disconnects the battery, the camera cannot write the final closing metadata wrapper to finalize the video file container. This results in a corrupted file notice.
Test: Power the camera using a direct USB cable or a verified 100% full battery. Record a short clip, press the shutter button normally to save it, and verify if the file plays back successfully.
Step 2: Check for Card Sector Failures If files are corrupted despite stable power and a normal shutdown:
Refer to the Fixing "Slow SD Card", "Card Error" or "Format SD Card" on AKASO Camera section and perform a deep FAT32 format on a computer.
If the issue persists, please try to change the card out for a different brand-new U3 high-speed card from a Brand Name Official Store and provide a photo of your current card.
✉️ After-Sales Solutions
If swapping cards completely solves the issue, your original SD card has failed or degraded, and please be retired.
If videos remain corrupted across multiple genuine high-speed brand cards, the internal encoding engine or storage controller is defective. Please contact customer support with your Order ID and photos of the cards and the issue used to claim a warranty service.
