đź“‹ Overview
The AKASO Brave 4 Pro features an intuitive rear touchscreen alongside dual-screen display capabilities. This self-help guide explains how to isolate software lockups from genuine hardware failures, utilize physical shortcuts to force a system reset, and resolve switching errors via firmware updates.
🛠️ Troubleshooting & Resolution Steps
Touchscreen Completely Unresponsive (Touch Failure)
Step 1: Test Physical Controls
Press the top Shutter button or the front Power/Mode button.
Observe if the camera can still capture photos, record videos, or switch modes.
Assessment: If the physical buttons work, the mainboard is operating correctly, and the issue is restricted to the touch interface. If all physical buttons are also frozen, remove and reinsert the battery to force a hard reboot.
Step 2: Force a Factory Reset via Physical Buttons
If your physical buttons are functional, you can completely bypass the broken touch interface and use them to trigger a system reset to wipe corrupted temporary caches:
In the live preview mode, repeatedly press the front Mode button until the camera enters the Settings menu.
Use the side UP/Down buttons to scroll down through the list until you highlight Reset / Factory Settings.
Press the top Shutter button (which acts as the 'Enter/Confirm' key) to access the option, then confirm the reset action.
The camera will reboot automatically. Once restarted, check if the touchscreen sensitivity is restored.
Step 3: Hardware Assessment
If the touch interface remains entirely dead after a factory reset, the touch digitizer panel or its hardware connection bus is defective. Please proceed to the warranty section at the bottom of this article.
Dual-Screen Switching Failure
Crucial Prerequisite: No Switching During Active Recording
Important: The camera system blocks dual-screen toggling while it is actively recording a video due to high processing loads. This is an intended safety feature and not a mechanical defect. You must always press the Shutter button to Stop Recording before attempting to switch screens.
Step 1: Standard Switching Operation
Enter Standby Mode: Turn on the camera and ensure it is in the live preview standby mode (no recording).
Locate the Shortcut Button: Locate the UP button on the side of the camera, or the Mode button on the front.
Trigger the Switch: Press and hold the designated button for at least 3 seconds. The rear main screen will turn off, and the front screen will illuminate.
Switch Back: To return to the rear display, press and hold the same button again for 3 seconds.
Step 2: Firmware Re-flash Solution
If you are still unable to switch screens after following the correct procedure, there may be a firmware issue. Please contact our Support Team to request the specific firmware package calibrated for your camera's current firmware version along with step-by-step re-flashing instructions.
✉️ After-Sales & Technical Support Options
For permanently dead touchscreens or switching failures that persist after a firmware flash, please record a short video showing your attempts to interact with the screen or buttons.
Then send this video along with your order number or invoice to our Customer Support for a prompt warranty service.
