đź“‹ Overview
Audio recording issues are typically tied to external housing configurations (like waterproof cases), incorrect menu microphone sources, or a physical failure of the internal microphone capsule.
🛠️ Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1: Check Physical Cases and Audio Source Menus
Waterproof Case Warning: Check if the camera was inside the solid waterproof housing during recording.
The waterproof case is a completely hermetic seal designed to keep water out; it blocks over 95% of ambient sound waves, resulting in no/faint audio or muffled white noise.
Menu Source Check: Enter the camera setup menu and verify that the "Microphone" setting is explicitly set to "built-in" when you are not using the external microphone.
If the menu settings are corrupted or acting erratically, execute a "Reset to Factory Settings".
Step 2: Isolate Microphone Defects (Low Volume/Heavy Hissing)
If the camera records faint audio or massive crackling noise when used outside the waterproof case after a factory reset, determine when the issue began:
Recent Onset: The microphone ports may be clogged with fine dirt/debris, or the audio codec firmware has glitched. Please contact the support team to try a manual firmware reflash.
Defective out-of-the-box: If your new camera has been experiencing these issues since you first unboxed it, please provide a short video showing the issue to the support team for warranty service.
✉️ After-Sales Solutions
If a hardware microphone defect is confirmed, provide your Order ID, SN number, and current firmware version to support.
For out-of-the-box failures, please contact after-sales support to obtain accessories such as an external wireless microphone kit or a windscreen to optimize audio capture, or to request other after-sales services.
