If you notice that the date and time printed on your recorded videos or photos are incorrect, or if the camera seems unable to save your time settings, please read the guide below to understand why this happens and how to resolve it.
Why Does This Happen?
This behavior is completely normal. The camera relies on a small internal capacitor to keep time when the main battery is removed or empty. When the camera's main battery is removed, or left completely drained for more than 24 to 48 hours, this temporary internal clock will reset to the factory default date.
How to Correct the Date and Time
To ensure that your future recordings display the accurate time, please try either of the following methods to reset it:
Method 1: Sync via the AKASO GO App (Fastest)
Turn on your camera's Wi-Fi.
Connect your camera to the AKASO GO App on your smartphone.
Once successfully connected, the camera will instantly and automatically synchronize with your phone's current local time.
Method 2: Adjust Manually on the Camera
Turn on the camera and enter the System Settings menu (the gear icon).
Scroll down to find Date & Time.
Manually update the settings to your current correct local time.
💡 Pro Tips to Prevent This Issue
To avoid this issue from happening again in the future, we highly recommend checking the time display on the camera screen before your next recording—especially if the device has been sitting idle or left without a battery for a few days.
