🔍 Why Downloaded Videos Won’t Play
Here are the most common reasons and how to check them:
- File Format Compatibility
- AKASO cameras record in MP4 or H.265/HEVC formats.
- Older phones may not support H.265.
- Corrupted or Incomplete Download
- If the Wi-Fi connection dropped during transfer, the file may be incomplete.
- App or Phone Storage Issues
- Low storage space can prevent media playback.
- Outdated App or Phone OS
- Older app versions may have bugs; outdated iOS/Android can cause issues.
- Codec or Player Support
- Some phones lack the required video codecs.
🛠️ How to Fix Playback Issues
Try these solutions in order:
âś… 1. Use a Different Video Player
- Install VLC Media Player (free, supports all formats).
- Open the downloaded file in VLC.
- If it plays → The problem is the AKASO GO app or your phone’s default player.
âś… 2. Check File Size and Integrity
- Compare file sizes:
- The downloaded file should be similar in size to the original.
- If it’s much smaller → Download was incomplete.
- Solution: Re-download the file with a strong Wi-Fi connection.
âś… 3. Update the AKASO GO App
- Get the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
âś… 4. Free Up Phone Storage
- Delete unused apps/files to ensure enough space for smooth playback.
âś… 5. Convert the Video Format
- If your phone doesn’t support H.265:
- Use a converter like HandBrake (free) to change it to H.264.
- Re-save the video and try playing it again.
âś… 6. Restart Your Phone and Reconnect
- Restart your phone to clear temporary glitches.
- Reconnect the camera to the app and try downloading again.
