When condensation, fogging, or whitening appears inside the camera screen or lens, it is typically caused by rapid environmental temperature shifts or a compromise in the waterproof housing. Follow this guide to dry the device or request warranty assistance.
Troubleshooting Steps
-
Not Used in Water Recently (Physical Temperature Condensation):
If the camera has not been exposed to water, this fogging is caused by extreme ambient temperature drops (such as moving from a heavily air-conditioned room to hot outdoors), causing trace air inside the camera body to condense.
-
Recommended Dry Method: Open the battery cover and interface door immediately. Submerge the camera in a bag of uncooked rice or sealed desiccant packets for 1-2 days to extract all internal moisture.
If it powers on and functions normally, the moisture has been successfully evacuated. Store the camera in a dry environment moving forward.
If the camera remains non-functional or foggy, the internal electronics are compromised. Provide a short video of the fogged screen/lens to support a warranty replacement unit.

Used in Water Recently:
With a Waterproof Case: If fogging or power failure occurs after using the camera inside its waterproof housing underwater, take clear photos/videos highlighting the cracked or leaking area on the case alongside the fogged camera screen. Once verified, we will replace both the camera and the waterproof housing free of charge.
Without a Waterproof Case: Liquid ingress during bare-camera use beyond its rating is considered physical damage. Refer to the What to do if water gets into the Brave 7 LE camera? for emergency salvage instructions and policy boundaries.
