This guide covers screen-related hardware issues, including horizontal lines/artifacts, blank blue/black displays, touchscreen unresponsiveness, and dual-screen switching failures.
Troubleshooting Steps
Abnormal Screen Artifacts (White Lines/Horizontal Stripes/Snowflakes):
These symptoms indicate a loose LCD ribbon cable connection or permanent screen module hardware damage. Since this cannot be repaired via software, please provide a brief video showcasing the screen defect along with your order number to customer support for a warranty replacement unit.
Blue Screen or Black Screen Upon Booting (UI is Visible):
To determine if this is a system crash or hardware damage, remove the battery and SD card, and power the camera using a direct USB cable. If the camera boots up and works normally, navigate to settings and select Factory Reset.
If it remains blue or black after a direct USB connection or reset, contact support for the latest firmware package to perform a manual update.
Touchscreen Fails to Respond to Taps:
This points to touchscreen digitizer damage or a broken capacitive circuit. Check if the physical buttons are still functional.
If physical buttons work, use them to navigate to system settings and execute a Factory Reset. If the screen remains unresponsive after the reset, please provide the serial number (SN) located inside your camera’s battery compartment to our customer service team to receive the latest firmware update.
If physical buttons are also dead, the hardware is completely compromised. Please provide the serial number (SN) located inside your camera’s battery compartment to our customer service team to receive the latest firmware update.
Dual-Screen Switching Failure or Front Screen Stays Black:
Correct Operation Guidance: In the preview interface, press and hold the Mode button for at least 3 seconds to switch between the front and rear screens. Note: Screen switching is locked during active video recording. Stop recording before attempting to switch screens.
If the front screen stays black after holding the Mode button for 3 seconds while recording is stopped (but the main screen works), and if holding yields no response at all across any function, the Mode button may be physically broken; if the button works fine for other features but the front screen stays dead, the front display ribbon cable is severed. We will replace the camera under warranty.
