If your camera shuts down regularly at fixed time intervals or suddenly goes black during use, it is likely due to the auto-power-off timer, screen sleep configurations, or the memory card becoming full without overwrite permissions.
Troubleshooting Steps
Check the "Auto Power Off" Settings:
Go to the system menu and check if an Auto Power Off is active. Turn it off or restore the camera to factory defaults to see if the issue is resolved.
Check the "Screen Saver" Function (Distinguish Sleep Mode from Shutdown):
Often, a blacked-out screen due to auto-sleep is mistaken for a shutdown. Press any physical button or tap the screen when it goes dark to see if the display wakes up. If it does, simply disable the Screen Saver or reset the camera to factory defaults.
Check for "Card Full Protection Shutdown":
If the camera continues to shut down at fixed intervals even after adjusting the above settings and formatting the card, it may be due to the camera stopping and powering down automatically because the card is full.
Solution: Enable "Loop Recording" in the settings menu, or upgrade to a larger-capacity branded high-speed U3 SD card. Non-branded low-speed cards often freeze or crash when full because they cannot overwrite data properly. If the issue persists after enabling loop recording or swapping to a premium card, it is a hardware fault, and a replacement will be provided.
