đź“‹ Overview
If your AKASO Brave 7 LE action camera is not charging, showing no indicator light, or failing to power on when connected to a power source, it can be caused by a faulty accessory, a dirty port, or an internal hardware issue. This step-by-step guide will help you isolate the cause and find the right solution.
🛠️ Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1: Check Charging Accessories and Ports
Before assuming a hardware fault with the camera, please rule out external cable or adapter failures:
Inspect the Cable and Adapter: Check if your wall charger is properly plugged into a working outlet. Inspect your USB cable for any visible damage, kinks, or loose connections.
Clean the Camera Port: Ensure that the charging port on the camera body is completely clean and free from dust, lint, or debris.
Cross-Test with Alternatives: Attempt to charge the camera using different combinations of USB cables and alternative wall adapters (or plug it directly into a computer USB port).
Step 2: Observe Camera Indicator Lights
Securely connect the USB cable to the camera and monitor its response:
Check if the camera shows any signs of receiving power, such as a battery charging icon on the screen or an illuminated LED indicator light.
Step 3: Diagnose the Hardware (The Battery Test)
If there is still no indicator light and no charge via the USB cable, please perform this diagnostic test:
Insert a Pre-Charged Battery: Insert a battery that you know has been charged externally or previously into the camera and attempt to turn it on.
Scenario A: The camera powers on fine. If it functions perfectly with a charged battery, only the physical charging port or the internal power delivery submodule is damaged.
Note: Since they share hardware routes, this may also affect external microphone connectivity.
Scenario B: The camera won't power on at all. If the camera remains completely dead even with a known working battery, the internal motherboard has likely failed.
