Important Precautions for Safe Underwater Use

Before using your AKASO waterproof housing, carefully follow these guidelines to protect your camera and maintain optimal performance:

🛡️ 1. Mandatory Waterproof Test (First-Time Use)

• Perform a dry test before underwater use:

1. Place a dry tissue inside the empty housing
2. Securely close all latches
3. Submerge in water for 5 minutes
4. Check tissue for moisture

• If tissue is wet:
• Repeat the test to confirm
• Contact AKASO Support immediately: cs@akasotech.com
• Why? Sealing effectiveness varies due to soft rubber gaskets

⏱️ 2. Strict Time Limitations Underwater

• Maximum submersion duration: 30 minutes per session
• Critical checks before submersion:
• Confirm all latches are fully engaged
• Verify housing is completely dry internally
• Ensure no hair/debris on rubber seals
• Why? Latches may loosen during water activities

🧼 3. Post-Use Cleaning Protocol

1. Immediately after use:

• Rinse housing under fresh running water
• Pay special attention to latch mechanisms

1. Drying process:

• Use microfiber cloth for exterior
• Air-dry interior upside-down
• Ensure zero moisture in USB/button areas
• Critical: Saltwater accelerates corrosion - dry within 2 hours

🌬️ 4. Deep Drying Procedure

• For uncertain dryness:
• Place housing + camera in sealed container with:
  • 2 cups uncooked rice (emergency moisture absorber), OR
  • Silica gel packets (5+ recommended)
• Leave overnight (minimum 12 hours)
• Storage tip: Keep housing unlatched when not in use

🆘 Emergency Response

If flooding occurs:

1. Immediately power off camera
2. Remove battery and memory card
3. Pat dry with lint-free cloth
4. Place in rice/silica container for 48+ hours
