This guide covers instances where the camera encounters an unknown system error mid-recording or when recorded videos show up as "Corrupted File" or "Playback Failed" on your camera or computer.
Troubleshooting Steps
Unknown Error Messages Mid-Recording:
If the error references "Card Error," "Format SD Card," or "Slow Card," please see the [Dedicated SD Card Articles].
For other unknown errors, attempt to restore the camera to factory defaults. If this does not work, take a snapshot of the exact error message on the screen and a photo of the front face of your SD card, then reach out to support.
Diagnosing Corrupted Video Files or Playback Failures:
Cause 1: Improper Power Termination. If the battery drains mid-record or the power cable is pulled out, the video file will fail to write its closing index header. Ensure a stable power configuration and always stop recording via the shutter button before powering down.
Cause 2: SD Card Specification and Allocation Issues. Format your SD card to FAT32 on a PC, then test it in the camera. If swapping cards fixes the issue, discard the old card. If it fails across multiple cards, support will ship you a dedicated AKASO SD card to run cross-validation diagnostics. If that fails, we will replace the camera body.
Dropped Frames / Repeated Frames:
Try turning on "Loop Recording" in the system setup and check if the recording stabilizes.
If unresolved, contact support with your order number and current firmware version to receive a manual download link for the latest corrective patch. If the update yields no change, we can offer partial compensation if you choose to keep the unit or explore alternative accommodations.
