📋 Overview
High-quality audio is essential for capturing your adventures. If your AKASO Brave 7 LE is experiencing issues such as entirely missing audio, faint recording volume, loud background/hissing noise, or audio that is out of sync with the video, this guide will walk you through the troubleshooting steps to identify and resolve the cause.
🛠️ Troubleshooting & Resolution Steps
1. Audio is Entirely Missing or Exceptionally Faint
If your recorded videos have no sound or the volume is barely audible, please verify the following:
Check the Waterproof Case: Were you using the waterproof housing? Because the case is hermetically sealed to withstand water pressure, it naturally blocks out environmental sounds. The camera will not record clear ambient sound inside the case. Please try to remove the case for non-underwater scenarios.
-
Check Camera Settings: Navigate to the camera settings menu and ensure the "Microphone" option is explicitly set to "Built-in", or verify that the "External Mic" function is turned OFF when you don't use an external microphone (depending on your firmware version).
Check if the camera is set to Mute Mode during playback.
Test on Alternate Devices: Export the video files to a computer or smartphone via the AKASO app. If the audio plays normally on your computer/phone, the issue lies with the camera's built-in speaker, not the recording microphone.
Perform a System Reset: If the settings seem correct but there is still no sound, perform a "Factory Reset" via the system menu to clear any conflicting software configurations. Test a new recording without the case.
2. Loud Hissing, Background Noise, or Static
Environmental Gain Adjustment: If you notice a "rustling" or buzzing static current noise, check your surroundings. When recording in a very quiet environment, the camera's system automatically boosts microphone sensitivity, which can amplify natural background static. In louder environments, this noise is automatically suppressed.
Check Camera Settings: Navigate to the camera settings menu and ensure the "Microphone" option is explicitly set to "Built-in", or verify that the "External Mic" function is turned OFF when you don't use an external microphone (depending on your firmware version).
Hardware & Firmware Check: If the high noise appeared suddenly after a period of normal use, check the physical microphone port on the camera body for any dust, dirt, or foreign debris blocking it.
3. Video and Audio are Out of Sync
If your audio does not match the video movement, this is typically caused by the MicroSD card failing to write data fast enough.
Format the Memory Card: Back up your files, format the MicroSD card on your computer in FAT32 format, and then format it inside the camera menu again. It is recommended to format it a few times and reset the camera before testing.
Replace the SD Card: Ensure you are using a high-quality, name-brand U3-rated MicroSD card purchased from a reputable reseller. Counterfeit or underperforming cards often cause write-speed lags, resulting in desynchronized audio.
4. Specific Issue of Low Volume / High Background Noise:
For Brand New Cameras (Low Volume/High Noise out of the box): If you prefer not to exchange the device, our team can ship you a complimentary external wireless microphone kit to optimize audio pickup. Alternatively, we can arrange an alternative model exchange or other standard warranty service.
For Sudden Issues After Use: Our team can provide the latest official firmware package to flash and update your device.
