This guide targets instances where audio is entirely missing from your recorded videos, a continuous "hissing" static current noise is present, or the recording volume is exceptionally faint.
Troubleshooting Steps
Verify Waterproof Case Usage:
Check if you recorded the video while the camera was inside the waterproof housing. Note: Because the waterproof case is hermetically sealed to keep out water, it naturally blocks out environmental sounds. Remove the case for non-underwater scenarios to record full audio.
Verify Camera Menu Settings:
Depending on your current firmware iteration, menu labels may vary. Navigate into the camera settings menu and make sure the "Microphone" option is explicitly set to "Built-in", or verify that the "External" function is turned OFF. Alternatively, execute a "Factory Reset" to clear conflicting software configurations.
Cross-Verify Playback on Alternate Devices:
Export the video files to a computer or smartphone via the app. Check if the audio is missing there as well, which rules out a malfunction with the camera's physical speaker. If settings are correct and no case was used, yet audio remains dead, send a short video and your order ID to support for a camera exchange.
Specific Issue of Low Volume / High Background Noise:
If this issue is present straight out of the box with a brand-new camera and you prefer not to exchange the device, our team can ship you a complimentary external wireless microphone kit to optimize audio pickup. Alternatively, we can arrange an alternative model exchange or a full refund.
If this appeared suddenly after a period of normal use, contact support for the latest firmware package to flash the device, checking if foreign debris is blocking the physical microphone port.
