🛠️ Part 2: Troubleshooting Connection Issues
If your remote control stops responding or fails to connect, please try the following troubleshooting and re-pairing steps in order:
Step 1: Check the Battery & Indicator Lights
Ensure the battery (Standard CR2032 or CR2025) is installed correctly with correct polarity. Press any button and observe the lights:
✅ Normal: Only one indicator light flashes briefly.
-
❌ Issue Detected: Both indicator lights flash at the same time, or no lights flash at all.
Solution: If you notice either of these abnormal light behaviors, please replace the battery with a fresh one.
Step 2: Reset the Remote Control
Press and hold both buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds until both indicator lights turn solid on, then release them.
Once the reset is complete, the indicator lights will turn off automatically.
Step 3: Re-establish the Connection
Press both buttons rapidly and continuously 15 times.
Immediately afterward, gently tap the back of the remote control 5 times against a firm surface to help reset the internal physical components.
Step 4: Verify and Test
After completing the steps above, test the remote control to see if it can successfully control your camera functions again.
⚠️ Important Usage Reminders
Water Resistance: The remote control is only splash-proof and is not waterproof. Avoid submerging it or using it underwater.
Signal Range: While the range is up to 10 meters in open areas, the presence of obstacles or walls may significantly reduce the effective distance.
Wi-Fi Conflict: The remote control cannot be used to start or stop recordings while your camera is actively connected to the smartphone app via Wi-Fi.

In fact it does not explain HOW to connect the Akaso 7 to the remote control.
I finally got the correct instructions from someone in customer service. Amazing that they cannot seem to get this in their FAQs.
Press the power button to turn on the remote control. When the red and blue lights flash, the remote control is waiting to connect to the camera.
Then you need to pair the camera and remote. Turn on the camera, ensure that the remote is enabled in settings. Please press the remote Set and Record buttons at the same time till the red and blue lights turn on and stay on for one second. When the remote is connected to the camera, its screen will display the current camera status information, the two lights will also turn off.
That's it, that's all. Worked great for me.
The remote is not working at all. No light glows when I press either of the buttons. I changed the battery too, but it's not working.
