This guide provides two methods to change the system language on your AKASO Brave 4 action camera.
Method 1: Change Language via the Settings Menu
This is the standard method for switching languages without affecting your stored files.
Step 1: Access the Settings Menu
- Power on your camera.
- Press the "Mode/Power Button" five (5) times consecutively to enter the main settings menu.
Step 2: Enter the Settings
- Press the Volume Down Button once to highlight the Settings icon (usually a gear symbol).
- Press the OK Button (on the top of the camera) to confirm.
Step 3: Select Language Option
- Press the Volume Down Button four (4) times to navigate to the language option. It will be listed as a string of language names: “English/简体中文/繁体中文/Italiano/Español/Deutsch/Français/日本語/한국어”.
- Press the OK Button to enter the language selection menu.
Step 4: Choose Your Language
- Use the Volume Up/Down Buttons to scroll through the list of available languages.
- Press the OK Button to confirm your selection. The menu language will change immediately.
Method 2: Reset to Factory Settings
This method will reset all camera settings to default, including the language. Please note: This will also delete all your custom settings (but not your photos/videos). Use this if you cannot navigate the menus.
Step 1: Access the Settings Menu
- Power on your camera.
- Press the "Mode/Power Button" five (5) times consecutively.
Step 2: Enter the Settings
- Press the Volume Down Button once to highlight the Settings icon.
- Press the OK Button to confirm.
Step 3: Find Factory Reset
- Navigate using the Volume Down Button until you highlight the second-to-last option in the menu, called “Factory Reset” or “Reset”.
- Press the OK Button to select it.
Step 4: Confirm Reset
- The camera will likely ask for confirmation. Confirm the action.
- The camera will reboot. Upon restarting, it will prompt you to choose a new language from the list.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the menus look different: Refer to your physical quick start guide, as menu layouts can sometimes change with firmware updates.
- I selected the wrong language: Don't worry! The location of the settings menu icon (the gear) is usually the same. You can use the visual guide above to navigate back to the language option.
- Factory Reset is a last resort: Always try Method 1 first to avoid losing your personalized camera settings.
