If your AKASO camera turns off unexpectedly, follow these troubleshooting steps:
1. ⚡ Check Battery Level
- Fully charge the battery before use.
- Video recording drains power faster than photos due to continuous sensor/data writing.
- Low battery? Recharge completely and retry.
- Tip: Use the original AKASO charger for optimal charging.
2. 🔄 Reset Camera Settings
- Reset to factory defaults to fix software glitches.
- How to reset: Refer to your camera’s manual (varies by model).
- Note: Resetting erases custom settings.
3. 💾 Test Your SD Card
- Faulty/damaged SD cards cause shutdowns during data access.
- Troubleshoot:
- Remove the SD card.
- Turn on the camera without the card.
- If it stays on → Replace the SD card.
- Critical: Use high-endurance, genuine cards (Class 10/U3/V30 recommended).
4. ⚙️ Review Power Settings
- Auto Power Off:
- If enabled, the camera shuts down after 3 minutes of inactivity.
- Disable in settings if not needed.
- Loop Recording:
- When disabled and the SD card fills, → Camera stops recording → Shuts down after 3 inactive minutes.
- Enable loop recording for continuous use.
5. 🧴 Clean Battery Contacts
- Dirty/corroded contacts disrupt power flow.
- How to clean:
- Remove the battery.
- Gently rub metal contacts with a cotton swab dipped in 70% isopropyl alcohol.
- Dry completely before reinserting the battery.
🚨 Additional Tips:
- Avoid extreme temperatures (heat triggers auto-shutdown).
- Update firmware – Enter the camera settings and find the About/System for your model.
- Test with a spare battery if available.
